Matchpoint had the privilege of being the Platinum sponsor for the 2nd annual North American Water Loss (NAWL) conference held December 3 -5 in San Diego, CA. Global water industry leaders gathered to rally behind the growing water efficiency movement.

The momentum that water loss has in the world, and specially in this country was easily felt. That was evident, not only by the 800 people present, but also by the worldwide companies and vendors who were present! At the 2015 NAWL Show, the utilities that were there were really exploring what they may do within their systems, and maybe even running a few pilots to address water loss. However, this year the vast majority of utilities there had projects in place and were looking to expand. It was obvious that there is an upward trend in the water loss industry!

A few highlights:

  • Matchpoint hosted a Welcome Reception on the night of Dec. 4th for all NAWL attendees, presenters, and exhibitors. We were honored to have the ability to unite water industry stakeholders in a fun but meaningful, informal setting.
  • Project Manager, Austin Deaver, gave a riveting presentation on DMAs, enunciating the feasibility of both rural and urban, small and big, utilities of implementing DMAs to permanently and effectively monitor the water network. DMAs certainly are gaining momentum both in California and nationwide.
  • Matchpoint’s world renowned partners Kevin Brooks (Primayer), David Johnson (Rezatec), Ziv Zaretsky (TaKaDu) traveled far to make a much appreciated appearance at the Matchpoint booth. Our partners also gave well-received presentations from network monitoring to geospatial satellite data solutions. Columbus Water Works, a Matchpoint customer, spoke to Matchpoitnt’s involvement with their non-revenue water program as well.
  • Encouraging conversations around the expansion of Matchpoint’s solutions were abundant at the conference, and we are excited to see how we continue to evolve and better serve our communities in 2018!

The next NAWL conference is in 2019 – mark your calendars, it’s certainly a show you don’t want to miss.
